Responsibilities:

o Preparation/Managing periodic/annual European compliance (VAT returns, ESL, Intrastat)
o Supervising/managing the collection of open VAT receivables towards European tax authorities
o Providing day-to day VAT technical support for all business functions
o Providing VAT technical support for projects
o Acting as a resource for queries from colleagues within Budapest shared service center
o Supporting business/IT to implement any VAT law changes in business processes and in SAP
o Monitoring European VAT changes in VAT law/regulation
o Leading communication with European authorities
o Provide in-house VAT training on regular basis to non-tax employees (accounting, legal, commercial teams etc.)
o Managing VAT and Intrastat audits for European legal entities

 

Qualifications:

o University degree in Business Administration/Economics/Law with focus on VAT, including the 6th Directive
o Minimum 5-7 years VAT experience; Preferably a combination of (i) experience in big 4 or law firm specialized in VAT, and (ii) combined with at least 2-4 years of experience in a VAT department of a Multinational
o Strong European knowledge on the EU 6th Directive
o Strong VAT knowledge with respect to intra community transaction
o Relevant experience on cross boarder VAT refund procedures.

o Fluency in English, written and spoken
o Experience in German and/or Italian VAT is a plus
o Ability to travel occasionally
