Position Summary:


Execute import (and export) logistics activities in the EMEA region for liner and air shipments, ensuring on time despatch from the plants and on time delivery to the customer/receiving location.  Position will be responsible for day to day SAP transactions in addition to resolving any transportation delays, equipment challenges or other issues impacting on time delivery to the customer.  This position will interface with their counterparts in the SCD team to meet productivity and quality metrics ensuring a seamless order-to-deliver process resulting in excellent customer service.


Areas of Responsibility:


  • Coordinate all load, shipment and traffic processes with carriers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, local plant and warehouse/terminal personnel to ensure on time delivery to customer/plant
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety and Compliance written standard operating procedures and controls, trade compliance, customs compliance, transportation and logistics regulations, Sarbanes Oxley, Dangerous Goods regulations, Responsible Care and ISO 9000
  • Execute SAP postings in a timely manner aligned with revenue recognition rules and ensure timely discrepancy resolution
  • Execute SAP quality notification transactions for all process failures to align with quality assurance expectations
  • Ensure adherence to defined operational escalation process to leads, regional experts and plant personnel when encountering unforeseen delays in shipping from plant and ultimate delivery to customer.  Manage exceptions and emergency situations.
  • Track desk metrics defined for on time shipping and on time delivery.   Provide root cause analysis outside tolerance to be incorporated into overall scorecard and process improvement plans
  • Assist with resolution of freight invoice discrepancies
  • Recommend process improvement including investigation of quality failures and the development of preventive and corrective actions for quality failures
  • Process claims for 3rd party carrier incidents including the initiation, management and collection of claims
  • Manage returns including SOX physical and non-physical
  • Assist in contingency planning (e.g., power outage, SAP outage) and special incidents (hurricane and inclement weather preparation, plant outage)
  • Prepare documentation for supplier complaints including letters to vendors
  • Assist in investigation of customer complaints


What we expect:

  • Bachelor degree or OKJ certification in International Shipping or any related area
  • 2-3 years of experience in Logistics/shipment coordination
  • Fluency in English language
  • German language in an advantage
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently and make decisions 
  • Excellent problem solving skills and proactivity
