Overview:

The Project Supervisor, Property Managament is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of facility, maintenance, safety, and infrastructure projects at the European Technical Center (ETC) in Meyrin. The role ensures that all projects and maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining compliance with Celanese standards, Swiss regulations, and safety requirements.

 

Reporting within Property Management, the Project Supervisor plays a critical role in building maintenance, capital project execution, as well as contractor stewardship, work permit management, fire protection, emergency preparedness. The position serves as a key interface between tenants, contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational reliability, business continuity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Project & Capital Works Management

  • Lead facility improvement, maintenance, and renovation projects from planning through completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, within approved budgets, according to quality standards, and within agreed schedules.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders during project execution.
  • Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and proactively resolve issues affecting scope, cost, or timing.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and execution for infrastructure upgrades and building improvements.
  • Manage project acceptance testing, commissioning activities, and final handover documentation.

Facilities Maintenance & Operational Reliability

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the campus.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of facility infrastructure, including Building systems, Access control systems, CCTV and security equipment, Alarm systems, Mechanical and ventilation systems, Doors, flooring, and interior finishes
  • Oversee facility repairs, renovations, and workplace improvements to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Support installation, relocation, and decommissioning of equipment for Celanese and tenant organizations.

Financial & Budget Management

  • Support development and monitoring of annual maintenance and operational budgets.
  • Drive cost optimization by obtaining competitive quotations and evaluating service providers.
  • Prioritize expenditures based on business needs, risk, and operational impact.
  • Monitor project costs, contractor invoices, and budget performance to ensure financial accountability.
  • Track contractor labor hours and provide reporting to Property Management and EHS teams.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions without compromising safety or service quality.

Service & Customer Management

  • Coordinate facility services and maintenance activities for Celanese and tenant organizations.
  • Ensure timely response and resolution of customer requests through effective collaboration with service providers and the service center.
  • Monitor service quality through audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with tenants, contractors, and internal customers.
  • Ensure completed work is properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.

Security & Access Control

  • Support the management, maintenance, and enhancement of site access control systems, electronic keys, badges, and security technologies.
  • Support the coordination of user access rights, security database updates, and system configuration changes to ensure secure and efficient site access management.
  • Monitor security-related issues reported by service providers and implement corrective actions.

Safety, Stewardship & Contractor Management

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership and adherence to Celanese core values.
  • Co-manage contractor safety-related activities with the Safety and Contractor Supervision representative, including contractor onboarding, training, compliance oversight, work permit and monitoring of field activities to ensure safe and compliant project execution.
  • Co-manage the Work Permit System, including risk assessments, work scope reviews, permit issuance, and the continuous development of safe work procedures and practices to support safe and compliant operations.
  • Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) objectives through proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.

Qualifications:

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience in project management, facilities management, property management, engineering, or technical building operations.
  • Fluent French and English language skills.
  • Strong knowledge of contractor management, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
  • Experience managing maintenance, renovation, and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong budgeting, cost control, and contractor management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond to emergency situations.
