Mylar Specialty Films (Formerly Dupont Teijin Films) is a leading global producer of PET and PEN polyester films specialising in film products and related services for markets and industries including Battery Materials, Durable Cards, Electrical Insulation and Capacitors, Flexible Electronics, Healthcare, Imaging Media, Labels, Packaging, Photovoltaics and many more. Mylar Specialty Films is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Celanese Corporation and Teijin Limited. The business has approx. 2000 employees worldwide with manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, America and Europe.  The UK production site is based in Dumfries, Scotland, and the Global Research & Development Operation is based at Wilton on Teesside.  

 

We currently have vacancies at our Dumfries Site for an experienced IT Manager. 

 

  • Provides overall direction, guidance and completion of regional IT development and support activity, directing projects and maintenance activities involving internal and external organizations.
  • Works with global IT employees on a regular basis to consult and inform for new and ongoing activities.
  • Manage all employees and contractors in the regional IT organization. Works directly with business leaders in the region to determine IT needs, and to inform IT system and policy directions. 

 

Main location will be on-site at Mylar Dumfries Site with some attendance at Wilton site as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for business and technology strategies.
  • Lead projects that accomplish full implementation and utilization of business systems. Develop and execute maintenance plans to keep all systems patched and up to date as needed.
  • Perform regular governance activities to assure reliable & adequate systems performance, capacity, security, and resilience. Collaborate with business leaders to anticipate needs and advise on use of IT systems. Monitor ongoing business activity and plan for IT changes required to support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, technologies, and vendor products and capabilities. Work with Corporate IT groups as needed to coordinate with standards, projects, and change control requirements.
  • Work with current vendors to ensure expected service and supplier performance. Develop new vendors as required to provide new and/or replacement products and services.
  • Lead and guide a small UK based team, setting objectives, managing caseloads, overseeing operational delivery and monitoring performance.
  • Sponsor and recommend development for internal employees and external IT contractors on technologies, cybersecurity, and functionality as needed to support business systems and operations. Manage training for IT systems users as required.
  • Manage all regional IT spending in line with the global and regional Annual Operating Plan (AOP.) Contribute to development of and updates to the AOP.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management, or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing IT organizations in a commercial / industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP, Supply Chain, Financial, and Customer Service systems management.
  • Ability to travel locally daily and internationally on occasion. Work outside of weekdays is required on occasion for scheduled project work and for unscheduled system restoration. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are required as you will travel to local sites as needed.
