Overview:

The Payroll Specialist (Germany) will support the end-to-end German payroll process from our Service Center in Asturias. This role executes monthly payroll activities in SAP GlobalView, manages employee master data including SSL uploads, processes ServiceNow tickets, partners with HRBP and Finance, and ensures statutory and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities:

YOU will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Prepare and process monthly German payroll in SAP GlobalView, including new hires, leavers, employee changes, and updates to salary components, deductions, and time/absence data.
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll checks, variance analysis, four-eyes review, gross-to-net validation, and SOX control execution.
  • Maintain employee master data, including tax details, social insurance, work schedules, and pay components.
  • Execute monthly SSL uploads for master-data changes; validate input files, resolve load errors, and reconcile successful processing.
  • Monitor SSL error queues and ensure data integrity across SAP and upstream HR systems.
  • Handle ServiceNow tickets, respond to employee inquiries, and provide high-quality support to HRBP and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with statutory health insurance providers, authorities, and process A1 certificates and certificates for parental/maternity leave.
  • Process garnishments, third-party debtor declarations, and ensure correct SAP entries.
  • Support Finance with GL posting inquiries, reconciliations, and interfaces; collaborate with Treasury on payment release timings.
  • Administer ADP Global MyView (password resets, leaver documents, employee access).
  • Ensure data accuracy, maintain audit documentation, and support internal/external audits.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to standardization and risk reduction.

Qualifications:

What YOU will bring to the team:

  • 3-5+ years of German payroll experience in a corporate or service-center environment.
  • Strong understanding of German wage tax, social security rules, sickness payments, parental/maternity leave, and garnishments.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP GlobalView (SAP HCM) and Excel; experience with SSL file uploads preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
