Overview:

Accounting OpEx Manager is responsible to drive/participate in strategic projects, accounting change projects, process standardization and improvement opportunities globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an accounting process subject matter expert and apply this expertise through:
    • Actively leading/participating in Strategic projects (acquisitions/integration, divestitures, etc.)
    • Actively leading/participating in Accounting change projects
    • Leading/Participating in global process standardization efforts
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, related to key accounting processes globally
  • Carry out in-depth analysis, investigation of identified improvement opportunities and provide solutions
  • Ensure accounting process standardization across regions, enforcing compliance with policies
  • Take on GPO duties, as assigned
  • Maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude and serve internal customers
  • Proactively seek and improve intra-departmental and cross-functional efficiency and enhance processes
  • Participate/Coordinate development of training documentation, with possibility of delivering some training where applicable
  • Participate on cross-functional teams, where applicable, as Accounting OpEx representative
  • Understand policies and procedures and have an understanding of audit implications
  • Interact with finance and accounting management throughout the organization
  • Regular communication with key stakeholders, senior management
  • Answer end-user questions even from remote locations in different systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • chelor/master’s degree in accounting or other relevant field of Finance
  • 5-6 years relevant work experience in accounting; previous experience in a shared service center or accounting experience at a large company, or fast paced environment is desired
  • Show an outstanding knowledge and/or interest in one of the following areas: GL, CO, IC, INV, BCS
  • Solid knowledge of Celanese financial processes (US GAAP)
  • Solid Knowledge of financial close transactions and integration of financial processes
  • Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act,
  • Spreadsheet, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding Big Picture
  • Solid cross-functional knowledge and experience
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Customer focus (within policy guidelines)
