Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a days based Electrical Maintenance Engineer in our small Engineering team working at our well-established site at Spondon, Derby.

This role requires the ability to provide high level engineering technical expertise in all aspects of electrical maintenance and electrical system reliability work within the sites manufacturing environment. This covers a wide range of process areas such as heavy plant & materials handling as well as chemical process equipment and acetate film manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe preparation and execution of work and handover of equipment.
  • Responding to plant outages and emergency breakdowns which may involve flexibility in working hours.
  • Carry out Electrical PPM’s on Panels and Electrical Installations
  • Using fault finding skills and techniques to solve problems including RCA
  • Ensure Minor Electrical Works Certificate as required through contractors
  • Working to defined engineering standards and procedures
  • Use of SAP based CMMS system to Log & Track works as well as management and ordering of parts / spares.

Qualifications:

Background & Qualifications Required:

  • Time Served NVQ3 Electrical Maintenance Engineer (ONC / HNC Level Preferred)
  •  10 years’ experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment with working knowledge of DSEAR and Hazardous Areas essential; CompEx certified would be advantageous.
  • Experience of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems would be also beneficial although this is not an essential requirement.
  • BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Electrical Fault finding with PLC desired (Mainly Allen Bradley but some Siemens S7 and Mitsubishi).
  • Basic Bench Fitting and Workshop Skills to support Mechanical Engineers as required.
  • Working understanding of SCADA based plant communication systems.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Excellent attitude; a self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
