We currently have a vacancy at our Dumfries Site for an experienced Control/Electrical Technicians to join our maintenance team.
Mylar Specialty Films have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Control Technicians to join our maintenance team.
Successful applicants will have completed a recognised apprenticeship in Control/Electrical Engineering and will preferably have experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

The preferred candidates should have:
• Completed recognised apprenticeship in Control/Electrical Engineering
• General working knowledge of PLC systems in particular Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley would be advantageous.
• Experience of operation and integration of SCADA systems
• Experience of control instrumentation and systems associated with process control. Sound understanding of 3 phase AC distribution.
• Variable speed drive experience – both AC and DC
• Understanding and experience of statutory electrical tests and inspections
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work and communicate in a team.
• Adaptable and flexible to support on site outside of normal working hours when required
• Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management System desirable
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a valid work permit, if required.
This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday days with a requirement to work longer shifts, as required, which includes 12-hour day shifts, night shifts and weekend working.
