Overview:

The SMRO/Indirect Procurement Senior Specialist (Energy) is responsible for taking the strategic role, ensuring the supply, cost, quality and service across the energy/MRO procurement. Additionally, this role has some general plant plant controlling tasks.

Responsibilities:

YOU will be involved in the following tasks:

 

Strategic sourcing leader (m/w/d):

 

  • Develop and implement effective regional or global category strategies for Indirect Procurement specifically MRO and increase reliability and productivity
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts and assuring that assigned spend categories are purchased at the lowest possible total cost
  • Assess near- and long-term plans with suppliers to address business needs; consult with stakeholders to develop alternative solutions; advise on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with suppliers and seek out opportunities within supply base; Act as the internal point of contact for supplier management, regular supplier meetings and implementation of improvement strategies with suppliers. 
  • Establish a strong network with internal customers in the sites and other internal departments
  • Ensure activities align with global indirect procurement team. Develop and implement joint sustainable procurement strategies where possible
  • Deliver productivity cost savings year over year on key categories, communicate internally and lead the resolution of supplier performance issues, and identify/manage improvement opportunities

 

Energy management tasks:

 

  • Create PRs in SAP for all energy types in SAP, follow-up with Procurement Ops
  • Manage month-end energy acccrual process
  • Prepare energy forecast each month based on new inputs
  • Manage site energy model and determine energy requirement
  • Support Procurement lead with insights into site energy for Infraserv negotiation and forecasting
  • Review and approve Infraserv invoices
  • Communicate with Infraserv on operational topics such as PO, credit notes, invoice discrepancies
  • Create reporting file on energy consumption
  • Handle any German statistical reporting requests
  • Manage annual eco tax refund process
  • Follow energy regulations and market development in Germany

 

General plant controlling tasks:

 

  • Manage month-end accrual process for various manufacturing spend categories
  • Forecasting and budgeting of manufacturing costs
  • Create & manage general finance forecast model in Excel
  • Monitor costs vs. budget and forecast, provide insights into deviations
  • Approve site related invoices as needed
  • Support site productivity projects
  • Support site leadership with reporting & Worker's Council related tasks when needed
  • Create and manage reporting to Leadership team on site and in Amsterdam
  • Coordinate and support site physical inventory procedure, post differences to SAP
  • Coordinate and support annual fixed assets count, prepare asset transfer & retirement forms as needed

 

Qualifications:

What YOU will bring to the team:

 

  • Bachelors in Business Administration or higher
  • Solid 3-5 years’ experience in procuring / strategic sourcing of MRO material
  • Strategic sourcing experience including contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, productivity/cost savings, spend analysis, TCOs
  • Experience in working with regional and global contracts
  • Working Knowledge of SAP Procurement Systems
  • Experience in project management and implementation of new ideas, proven ability to drive change
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Being able to work under deadlines and have a good time management
  • Fluent in English; proficient in German (B2 or higher) is a plus
