Overview:

Celanese is recruiting a Shipping & Warehouse Supervisor to join us at the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant in Newport, South Wales. 

 

Our Newport Elastomer Plant which specialises in Santoprene is located in Newport, Wales on the River Usk only 12 miles northeast of Cardiff, and is one of the world's leading suppliers of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). These products are used on car windscreens, under-bonnet applications and for interior parts. The versatile product is also used by the construction industry, and for consumer goods such as flexible toothbrushes and kitchen utensils.

Responsibilities:

What you will do as a Shipping & Warehouse Supervisor:

  • Act as a first point of contact for escalations related to inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Maintain relationship with external suppliers.
  • Create and update replenishment plans from external warehouse.
  • Supervise daily work of the people reporting directly to him / her.
  • Issue resolution in SAP related to inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Monitor and update warehouse stock.
  • Coach team members in SAP and logistics related questions.
  • Reporting.

Qualifications:

Essential: GCSE standard in Maths/ English.

Essential: Fork Lift Truck Driving Licence.

Desirable: Graduate level in a logistics / warehousing qualification.

Desirable : Leadership or management qualification or training or demonstrable experience.

  • Demonstrable import/ export Logistics  and / or Warehousing experience.
  • Experience / knowledge of using SAP.
  • Previous experience of line managing a team of logistics/ warehousing staff in terms of resource planning, performance and attendance management.
  • Customer Service experience would be advantageous, works to understand customer needs; strives to exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrable Problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Systematic in approach and ability to work to and develop processes.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Able to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks according to need and ability to work under time pressure.
  • Willingness to learn / develop.
  • Proactive in approach.
  • Proactively seeks new ideas, initiatives or drives change in a positive manner.
  • Must have excellent general IT Skills and be familiar with all Microsoft 365 packages.
  • Ability to plan and organise information / data / work flows.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to follow directions and comply with Company or Global Policies.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with internal staff, customers and other external partners.
