Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective regional or global category strategies for Indirect Procurement specifically MRO and increase reliability and productivity
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts and assuring that assigned spend categories are purchased at the lowest possible total cost
  • Assess near- and long-term plans with suppliers to address business needs; consult with stakeholders to develop alternative solutions; advise on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with suppliers and seek out opportunities within supply base; Act as the internal point of contact for supplier management, regular supplier meetings and implementation of improvement strategies with suppliers. 
  • Establish a strong network with internal customers in the sites and other internal departments
  • Ensure activities align with global indirect procurement team. Develop and implement joint sustainable procurement strategies where possible
  • Deliver productivity cost savings year over year on key categories, communicate internally and lead the resolution of supplier performance issues, and identify/manage improvement opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Business Administration or higher
  • Solid 3-5 years’ experience in procuring / strategic sourcing of MRO material, rotary and power equipment, and services most preferably from Chemicals or Plastics industries
  • Strategic sourcing experience including contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, productivity/cost savings, spend analysis, TCOs
  • Experience in working with regional and global contracts
  • Working Knowledge of SAP Procurement Systems
  • Experience in project management and implementation of new ideas, proven ability to drive change
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Being able to work under deadlines and have a good time management
  • Knowledge of rotary and power equipment, consumables and warehouse packaging services
  • Fluent in English and proficient in German (B2 or higher), other languages like Italian are a plus
