                                                                Currently we are looking for a


                                                   International Legal Counsel/Contract Manager


The position will be based in Celanese’s European headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and will report directly to Celanese’s Senior Legal Counsel, also based in Amsterdam.

The European Legal team - currently consisting of eight attorneys and one paralegal based in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Budapest - is part of the bigger Celanese Global Legal team with members located in the USA, EMEA and APAC.


  • Draft, review, and negotiate standard and non-standard contracts and documentation (mainly in English), providing clear and practical legal expertise and guidance.
  • Lead the Legal review, negotiation and approval of NDAs for all the EMEA region, working closely with the business in new business pursuit and associated contract strategy.
  • Provide training sessions to the commercial teams on various topics, mainly concerning contract law and the company's contract policies.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business unit procedures.
  • Assist and take a proactive role in the identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of documents required for the fulfilment of the company's obligations under corporate law and its articles of association


  • 2- 3 years of working experience, gained in an international and dynamic environment, preferably in a law firm or multinational company. Experience in Dutch corporate law is a plus.
  • Law degree from an European University.
  • Fluent in English, good language skills in another European language would be a plus.
  • Proven experience/knowledge in general contract law.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal confidently and effectively across the organization.
  • Creative mindset to translate commercial ideas into sound legal frameworks and documents.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proactive and flexible with a hands-on approach.
