Manager Raw Materials Procurement - Energy  

 

to be located in Amsterdam, The Netherland

Responsibilities:

The Celanese energy landscape Europe consist of 14 sites in 7 countries. Every country has its own legislation & taxation with regards to electricity and natural gas supply (EU green deal broken down in country regulations, de-monopolization of the power-line grids and pipelines). On this scenario, your main tasks are:

  • Manage together with energy procurement director Celanese’ Energy portfolio in Europe covering multiple business lines and production sites within Europe
  • Responsible for supplier(s) selection, supplier relationship management, supplier mix optimization
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive energy supply strategies including hedging for assigned production sites, providing Celanese’s businesses with a competitive advantage in terms of total cost and supply reliability
  • Understanding market trends, performing cost and scenario analysis to enable quality decision-making.
  • Monitoring & Analysis of energy markets and providing market newsletters to the organization
  • Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Establish supplier and 3rd party networks which enable access to information about important market trends and competitive position of supply base
  • Company information requirements to green energy: analysis, data, market intel
  • Provide energy expertise for projects and M&A activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with business or technical focus
  • Procurement experience (including experience with RFQs, terms & conditions, legislation) or relevant role as a consultant or trader in the Energy sector is essential
  • Fluent in German and English is essential (other European languages is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Ability to successfully lead diverse groups towards a desired outcome through persuasion and influence
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be driven for results and have strong perseverance
