Currently we are looking in France for candidates (home-office based) for the following position:


Field Development Engineer (m/f/d) Automotive


  • Acquire and proactively support project opportunities, applying complete Celanese material portfolio at Automotive accounts in France and Benelux incl. engaged follow-up
  • Proactively meet with customers to understand their specific needs and surface project ideas for solutions 
  • Develop value propositions and actively assist the commercial team in transforming ideation into project opportunities
  • Initiate and support new added-value product development according to customers' requirements
  • Provide engineering expertise using personal background and proper engagement of team resources such as Product Development and Technical Service Experts, etc. 
  • Inter-departmental collaboration with Program Management, Field Tech Service, Account and OEM Managers, etc. to successfully execute customer projects in alignment with Celanese project execution process.


  • Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 4-5 years professional automotive experience in application development
  • Proven application expertise in Automotive applications
  • Profound experience with working with Automotive Tiers and OEMs, ideally including personal network at key-stakeholders
  • Proven track record in engaging others in a complex matrix organization to successfully execute projects 
  • Highly skilled in proactively building collaborative relationships with customers
  • Strong business acumen - Knows how business works; anticipates and adopts trends and innovations and can transform them into value propositions
  • Self-motivated and energetic, hunter mentality
  • Takes initiative, is persistent and manages execution
  • Fluent in French and English, third European language such as Dutch or German of benefit
